Pharmacy services are essential to the safe conduct of clinical trials and research studies involving IMPs and NIMPs. The CRF Pharmacy dispenses clinical trial medications and study drugs in accordance with strict legislative requirements. It is dedicated to providing a high quality service.

The CRF will soon include a state of the art compounding facility for the safe handling of innovative study medications and novel therapies which will enable researchers to recruit to Phase I studies, a strategic goal of the facility.
As of December 2016 all oral/outpatient dispensing of clinical trial medications for the SJH campus is coordinated from the CRF Dispensary. To facilitate this a new larger bespoke location was identified within the CRF and building works were completed in November 2016. The CRF Pharmacy is fully equipped to manage a broad range of clinical trial medications across all disease areas. This joint governance between the SJH Pharmacy Department and the CRF will continue to evolve with the completion of the CRF aseptic compounding unit.
